Serving in Congress since 2019, Murphy emphasized actions he is taking towards preserving the state's coastal environment and supporting American businesses.
On March 26, 2025, Congressman Murphy stated, "I met with @NCDEQ to discuss protecting our state's environmental resources. Our conversation focused on how Congress can support initiatives for the coast, including beach nourishment and dredging projects. I am looking forward to our continued partnership!"
Later that same day, Murphy highlighted another meeting in a subsequent tweet, "I met with @NCCoastalFed to discuss how we can ensure future generations can enjoy the beautiful beaches and coastlines ENC is known for. Preserving our clean coastal waters is one of my top priorities in Congress and I will continue being a champion for our coastal."
The following day, March 27, 2025, Murphy also tweeted about economic discussions in Congress, "This week, @WaysandMeansGOP received an excellent update on how President Trump is putting American businesses first from US Trade Representative Greer. I want to share a few thoughts."
