Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing North Carolina’s 3rd district, acknowledged important issues and achievements in his recent social media posts. Murphy, who replaced the late Walter B. Jones Jr. in 2019, has been serving in the U.S. Congress since that time. Prior to his congressional service, he served in the North Carolina House of Representatives. In his recent tweets, he addressed topics ranging from honoring Vietnam War veterans to safety in local communities to healthcare legislation.
On March 29, 2025, Congressman Murphy paid tribute to Vietnam War veterans in a post. He stated, "On National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we honor the sacrifices made by the brave service members who fought in Vietnam. I especially want to recognize the over 200,000 North Carolinians for their bravery and commitment to our nation during the war."
Later on the same day, Murphy expressed gratitude toward local safety officials for their service. At 16:37 UTC, he posted, "Our communities remain safe thanks to the selfless dedication of our firefighters, EMS professionals, and police force. Congrats to Greenville Fire-Rescue for receiving the top rating for fire protection and to Police Chief Ted Sauls on his retirement."
On March 30, Murphy turned his attention to healthcare legislation, endorsing efforts to streamline patient care. He tweeted, "Prior authorization hurdles are prohibiting patients from receiving life-saving care. Thankful for @RepMarkGreen’s leadership in re-introducing the bipartisan Reducing Medically Unnecessary Delays in Care Act of 2025 and improving the efficiency and accuracy of the process."
