Congressman Don Davis, representing North Carolina's 1st district since 2023, has been actively engaging with his community through a unique initiative called the #PiesOfThanks2024 tour. This campaign is aimed at expressing gratitude to first responders and public service officials across various counties.

On November 27, 2024, Congressman Davis began the day in Greene County by distributing pies as a token of appreciation. He stated, "We kicked off our day in Greene County with pies of great gratitude! Our #PiesOfThanks2024 tour began at the Greene County Operations Center, where we showed much love and appreciation for our exceptional first responders. Thank you for all you do to keep us safe!"

Later that day, Davis continued his efforts by visiting the newly established Greene County Sheriff’s Office. In his words from the same date, "We delivered a pie to the brand new Greene County Sheriff’s Office, which is impressive. Everyone deserves a piece of pie for a job well done! #PiesOfThanks2024"

The tour extended to Wilson County where Congressman Davis emphasized the importance of recognizing those who ensure community safety. On November 27, he tweeted, "Wilson County is where we express gratitude with pies for our first responders and 911 telecommunicators, who work tirelessly to protect and serve. You are integral to our community’s safety and well-being! #PiesofThanks2024"
