Congressman Don Davis, representing North Carolina’s 1st district since 2023, recently took to social media to express gratitude towards first responders and local communities. Davis replaced G.K. Butterfield in the U.S. Congress and has a history of public service, including a term in the North Carolina State Senate from 2009 to 2011.

On November 27, 2024, Congressman Davis shared his appreciation for first responders and 911 telecommunicators through a tweet stating, "We are delivering pies to our incredible first responders and 911 telecommunicators to thank them for their tireless work. Congress must pass H.R. 6319, the 911 SAVES Act of 2024, to ensure 911 telecommunicators are recognized as the first responders they truly are." He emphasized the importance of passing legislation that recognizes these professionals' contributions.

Later that day, he expressed gratitude towards Gates County with another post: "We’re expressing our deepest gratitude to Gates County. Happy Thanksgiving! #PiesofThanks2024". This message was part of his ongoing efforts to acknowledge community support during the holiday season.

Continuing his Thanksgiving outreach on November 27th, Davis tweeted about visiting Hertford County: "It’s pie time! We’re glad to stop by and share some love in Hertford County. Enjoy! #PiesofThanks2024". The initiative aimed at spreading cheer and appreciation among local residents.
