Greg Murphy expresses gratitude and concern over media bias and healthcare legislation

Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing North Carolina’s 3rd district, has recently taken to social media to express his gratitude for volunteers and his concerns regarding media objectivity and healthcare. His tweets cover a range of topics from community service efforts in response to natural disasters to legislative initiatives aimed at preserving Medicare.

On January 30, 2025, Congressman Murphy expressed his appreciation for the members of CHUMM who assisted with rebuilding efforts in Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene. He stated: "I am truly grateful for the members of CHUMM who recently traveled to WNC to help rebuild homes for families displaced by Hurricane Helene. Eastern North Carolina is with those affected every step of the way. Thank you to our remarkable volunteers!"

Later that day, he criticized NBC News anchor Lester Holt for perceived bias in news reporting. On January 30, 2025, he tweeted: "Shame on NBC News anchor @NBCNightlyNews. Lester Holt. You are to objectively report the news. Not provide your own progressive opinion. #HereWeGoAgain"

The following day, on January 31, 2025, Murphy highlighted challenges faced by physicians in America and announced a legislative initiative aimed at stabilizing Medicare access for patients. He wrote: "Physicians in America are facing unprecedented challenges, and access to high-quality, affordable care for millions of Medicare patients is in jeopardy. I've introduced the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act to preserve Medicare."
