On February 3, 2025, Congressman Murphy attended the inauguration of new facilities for Jones Senior High School and Trenton Elementary School. He expressed his appreciation for the "new state-of-the-art campus" rebuilt after Hurricane Florence destroyed the previous structures in 2018. This reconstruction was made possible through a public-private partnership. "It was an honor to attend the new state-of-the-art campus for Jones Senior High School and Trenton Elementary School. On February 4, 2025, Congressman Murphy paid homage to Rosa Parks on her birthday. He acknowledged her role as a civil rights activist who significantly impacted American history by refusing to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Murphy emphasized that discrimination has no place in America and praised Parks' enduring legacy: "Happy Birthday, Rosa Parks!
