Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing North Carolina's 3rd district, shared several updates on his legislative activities and opinions via social media. His recent tweets cover topics ranging from border security to veteran healthcare and a new appointment in the Department of Health & Human Services.

On February 13, 2025, Congressman Murphy expressed his condolences over the death of CBP Agent Raul Gonzalez, who was killed during a high-speed chase involving an illegal immigrant. He emphasized the need for stricter penalties for those evading law enforcement at the border. "CBP Agent Raul Gonzalez was tragically killed in the line of duty during a high-speed chase with an illegal immigrant while trying to protect our southern border. We need stronger penalties for illegals evading police."

Later that day, he highlighted a significant issue affecting veterans, noting that America loses over 17 veterans to suicide daily. Murphy announced his initiative to reintroduce legislation aimed at making Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy more accessible as a treatment for PTSD and traumatic brain injuries among veterans. "America tragically loses 17 or more veterans to suicide each day. Proud to re-introduce the Veterans National Traumatic Brain Injury Treatment Act, which makes Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, a proven effective treatment for PTSD/TBIs, more accessible for our nation’s veterans."

In another post on February 13, Congressman Murphy congratulated Secretary Robert F. Kennedy on his confirmation as head of the Department of Health & Human Services. He expressed optimism about working with Kennedy and President Trump to bring necessary changes in America's health sector. "Congratulations to Secretary Robert F. Kennedy on his confirmation to lead the Department of Health & Human Services."
