The following day, December 7, 2024, Murphy paid tribute to those affected by the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. He emphasized the importance of remembering those who lost their lives and acknowledged the sacrifices made by veterans and service members. "On December 7th, 1941, more than 3,500 American troops and civilians were killed or wounded in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Let us remember those who lost their lives and recognize that freedom is not free. Thank you to our veterans and service members for sacrificing so much."
On December 8, 2024, Congressman Murphy expressed his support for a bipartisan initiative aimed at improving living conditions for military personnel. He joined Representative Joe Courtney in advocating for the Healthy at Home on Base Act to address mold issues in military housing.
